Lockdown: Day 3

Civil unrest has meant house arrest for us the past few days. With no let up in sight we just hope the internet stays on and our rations last us the rest of the week. We were able to purchase some food from a stall down our street this morning, during a lull in the gunfire and bombings. All the shops and streets have been closed since Saturday, so we were lucky a few vendors decided to open today.

While we are not in the original protest zone, the efforts to shoot demonstrators out of that area has pushed them north into our neighborhood. The best reporting has been from foreign press using Twitter, which people in turn repost on Facebook. This is mainly important to locals who need to know what neighborhoods and streets are under the heaviest fire. Overall, the fighting has been in central Bangkok, so areas just a couple kilometers north of us are seeing no conflict.
