We went on our first real "Thai" vacation in July. My cousin Jan is a tour guide and loves to organize trips with her friends. This year we went to
Khao Sok National Park and stayed one night on the bamboo rafts and the second night in a nicer resort... although we've realized that no matter how endearing an open shower and toilet facing a limestone karst is, it makes for bug central at night when you're trying to pee!
Huts on bamboo rafts will probably be outlawed soon in Thailand because they don't hold up so well during monsoon season. We saw abandoned huts collapsed on themselves due to the wind. We lucked out with near perfect weather during our trip (it is monsoon season afterall!).

By "real Thai vacation" I mean "lots of posing for pictures."

We bathed in the fresh water reservoir right outside our raft huts.

Action pose!
