Weekend Wedding: Amphawa

We were lucky enough to get a ride to a wedding out of town this weekend. Amphawa is an hour outside of Bangkok, and it is known for its rehabbed, old timey riverside market, as well as some interesting wats you can visit by renting a speedboat. The bride booked us a room right on the river...

Yes, she is standing in some murky waters while cooking.

Lucky is the person with a friend willing to do the dirty job of de-shelling the shrimps.
Namtarn!

Not a Thai wedding weekend without a Thai posse...

Thai wedding processions start in the morning with a groom parade. This wedding started at 6 a.m. The bride had to wake up at 2 a.m. to get her hair and makeup done.

I wimped out and was napping by 9 a.m. Woke up by 11 a.m. for an early lunch reception before check-out.

Where there are Thais, there will be food.
